Chol Hamoed=Trips=Snacks

Snacks are an important part of every day. They help us reach our nutrient requirements, and keep us full during the day so we don’t overeat at meals.

Pesach is even more important to pack the right snacks, because it’s tough to find food once you’ve left the house.

Here’s a handy list of transportable snack ideas that are healthy and filling. When choosing snacks, try to have foods from 2 or more food groups to get a really nutritious punch!

  1. Yogurt and sliced fruit (bananas are great!)
  2. Yogurt with nuts & berries
  3. Frozen yogurt tubes
  4. String cheese
  5. Cottage cheese and berries
  6. Baked sweet potato chips/fries with plain Greek yogurt
  7. Sliced cucumbers with hard cheese

  1. Deviled eggs
  2. Hardboiled eggs
  3. Egg and vegetable “muffins”- bake eggs and veggies in a muffin tins
  4. Vegetable and meat kebabs (kids can put these together themselves onto the sticks)
  5. Cucumber tuna cups (cut 1 inch slices and remove some cucumber and stuff with tuna)
  6. Apple slices with nut butter
  7. Roasted nuts and dried fruits (look for dried fruit without added oil or sugar)
  8. Chicken nuggets
  9. Turkey roll ups
  10. Ants on a log (celery, nut butter, and raisins or chocolate chips)
  11. Sliced vegetables with tuna
  12. Salmon lettuce “wraps”

  3. Roasted acorn squash rings
  4. Baby tomatoes
  5. Hearts of palm spears
  6. Applesauce containers (look for unsweetened)
  7. Pickles
  8. Homemade fruit leather
  9. Guacamole with sliced veggies
  10. Baked potato wedges
