This delicious chicken sandwich is a party of flavors in your mouth!
I made this for a get together with my friends and everyone is still raving about it. And while it does have a few components, they come together quickly.
Bonus: There’s plenty of shortcuts you can take and still get the same results. We’ll share all the options below.

Start by preparing the “Sweet and Sticky Fried Onions.” They’re a great condiment (you might want to have some extra on hand for all your sandwich needs).

Start by frying the onions in a little oil. After the onions are nice and golden and caramelized, add in all the duck sauce and sweet chili sauce.

To make the Russian dressing, simply mix together all the ingredients.

Finally, let’s prepare the crispy pastrami. You can use the same pot you used for the onions and simply fry the pastrami until crispy. Or, you can get away from the stove and do it in the oven. We used the same technique that we used for our Candied Facon. Simply sprinkle with a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar and bake at 350⁰F for 8-10 minutes, until the sugar dissolves.
Slice open the baguette.
Now we’re almost ready to assemble the sandwich! Make sure all your components are ready.
Shmear both half of the baguettes with Russian dressing.

Add the crispy lettuce on one side.
And the avocado.
Top with crispy pastrami.

And strips of pretzel chicken. Where are you getting pretzel chicken? There’s a few options. One, you can simply buy it at the takeout counter. You don’t need a lot (the chicken will stretch here). Two, you can buy pretzel coated chicken in the freezer section. And three, of course, you can make the Pretzel Chicken in Dinner Done if you need a large quantity or want to do it all from scratch. Note, however, that this is definitely a recipe where the shortcuts work!
And finally, finally comes those Sweet and Sticky Onions.
This is one loaded sandwich.
Close it up and press down.
Place some skewers to keep it closed. You’ll want to have a skewer in the center of each portion, so keep that in mind when placing them in,
Slice into portions.
Now we’re ready for a party!
