Veal in White Wine Sauce
Author:

I use this recipe for holiday and special occasion meals. You can use any cut of veal slices. I prefer to use veal chops. It just looks more elegant and special. My family and guests love it. I've even made this recipe using chicken cutlets. Just reduce the amount of time it bakes.
Ingredients
  • 6 veal chops
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 8oz can sliced mushrooms
  • ¾ cup good quality white wine
  • 2 Tbsp chicken soup mix
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • oil
  • sprinkle of fresh cut parsley
  • flour or potato starch
Instructions
  1. Season veal with salt and pepper. Fry quickly on both sides in frying pan with some oil.
  2. Remove from pan and place in a roasting pan.
  3. In the same frying pan (do not wash it out. Use the oil from the veal) sauté onion until soft. Add drained mushrooms and let cook 5 minutes. Continue to add the rest of the ingredients except for the flour and cook another 5 minutes. Keep mixing.
  4. Slowly mix in the flour and cook until sauce thickens.
  5. Pour sauce over veal chops. Cover and bake at 350 for 1½-2 hours. Uncover and bake an additional 20 minutes.
  6. If you want to freeze and serve at a later time, do not uncover. Bake until ready to serve.
