Simple family fun that you get to eat – what could be better??
Every year, on one night of Chanukah, we have a donut decorating party. Some years we bake the donuts, some years we fry the donuts – definitely these yeshiva donuts, and some years we buy the donuts. But we always do the decorating ourselves.
You can make this as sophisticated an event as you want. From paper plates with a couple of icing choices (here’s our basic recipe) and lots of sprinkles (how fun are these??) to a full-on donut bar with gourmet toppings and fillings, you choose what works best for your family, budget, and creative energy.
The only rule is to allow each decorator the freedom to make something as “beautiful” as they want. Just come up with lots of categories of winners!
Tip: Make/buy mini donuts so each person gets to decorate more than one. The donut decorating fun will last a lot longer…
Can I put ur icing in those piping bags to bring it over to a party or do I need a special recipe for that?
