The Simcha App is so cool and swift, and will save you tons of time when it’s time to share in a simcha!
At the same time that I sat down to write up this post, I received a text message from a friend about the birth of her new baby boy and upcoming bris. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect!
So, I opened The Simcha App. This was almost too easy. I inserted how much I wanted to spend.
I selected the town and neighborhood where my friend lives (it’s only right around the corner, but it would still take more than an hour to get out, park, choose something in a store, wait until it’s gift-wrapped, drop off…).
And the occasion…
Then, I had a selection of gifts to choose from, from adorable stretchies to blue-themed candy platters. I chose the one I liked best – a black and royal blue colorblock stretchie – and entered the recipient’s name and address, the day I wanted it delivered, and credit card information. It took a minute.
I could even write a card!
That’s it. Click, click and gift-giving was done and there was no errand to do or phone call to make, and I knew my friend was going to receive a beautifully wrapped gift.
How did The Simcha App come about?
Last year, during the same week in July, two women in a Lakewood tech office gave birth to baby boys. Friday morning arrived and Aryeh realized that all the co-workers should send something ahead of the Shalom Zachors that would be taking place that evening. So, Aryeh went around collecting $10 from each person to chip in for the cost of the two gifts. Some had cash on them, and some didn’t, and when he was finally done collecting, he picked up the phone to call a store, only to be rushed off the phone because there were six people waiting on line that needed attention. Then, he had to rush and collect the delivery information and read off his credit card number over the phone. The process was simply time-consuming and cumbersome and overwhelmed most of his day that Friday.
“There has to be a more innovative way to do this,” Aryeh thought. Since he works in tech and computer programming industry, on motzei Shabbos he began the brainstorm for a simple app where one can make groups, choose from a selection of gifts from different vendors for a variety of occasions, and send with just a few clicks.
Together with a friend, he built the platform and technology behind The Simcha App from the ground up, and it’s so sleek and easy to use.
For the vendors, The Simcha App has a sophisticated backend that allows them to manage the gifts which show up on the app. They can upload new products, manage cut-off times for delivery, and see what items were ordered and what needs to go out when. It all stays very organized!
And what about that group gifting? It’s coming soon to The Simcha App, and it will guaranteed to be the simplest ever way to share in giving a gift. Look out for that added feature soon (we’ll keep you posted when it launches)!
