As you plan your own simcha, you can help make another one possible—partner with American Friends of Yad Eliezer/B’ezri to bring joy, dignity, and a new beginning to a couple in need.
You found the perfect venue. The dress is coming together. Maybe you’re still deciding between a band and a DJ—but either way, the excitement is building.
Now imagine this: across the ocean, there’s another kallah.
She’s also counting down the days.
But her countdown feels different. It’s laced with anxiety.
Her parents are doing everything they can. But they’re already behind on rent. Her dress will be secondhand, if they can find one. There won’t be a fancy hall or a big spread.
Because for families living in poverty or just making it through the month, marrying off a child is both a dream and a crisis. Without help, many can’t afford even a modest simcha, and the choice becomes one between deep debt or painful disappointment. No parent should have to choose between simcha and survival.
That’s where American Friends of Yad Eliezer / B’ezri’s Adopt-a-Wedding program comes in.

One Evening of Simcha. Two Lives Changed.
Through this remarkable program, generous families around the world sponsor weddings for young couples in Israel who would otherwise go without—or whose families would be forced into debt.
Some donors give in honor of their own simcha. Others in memory of a loved one, as a zechus for a refuah sheleima, or simply because their hearts won’t let them look away.
What your gift provides:
• Subsidies for basic wedding expenses—hall rental, catering, modest attire
• Relief from crushing debt that could follow a family for years
• Personal, respectful aid tailored to the family’s needs
• A chance to start married life with dignity and joy
The impact is staggering—and the need is growing. In the past year, 400–600 applications have been coming in every month.
For Sivan alone, there have been:
• 630 Applications
• 34 Orphaned Kallahs/Chossonim
• 20 Single-Parent Homes
• 64 Extreme Tragedy Cases
• 518 General Struggling Families
There have been well over 40,000 weddings sponsored to date—each one made possible by someone like you.
“I thank Hashem and B’ezri every month.”
So many recipients write back after their simcha.
Like Avigayil S. from Beit Shemesh, who shared:
“Each and every month since the wedding, when I go over my bills that need attention, I thank HKB”H and American Friends of Yad Eliezer / B’ezri over again. Anyone who has ever needed to pay with credit payment even the minimal obligations that go into seeing a young couple to the chuppah and setting up their new home will understand exactly how great my gratitude is.”
This Isn’t Just Tzedakah. It’s a Fresh Beginning.
Whether you’re planning a wedding of your own, celebrating a milestone, or simply want to make a difference—Adopt-a-Wedding is a way to give simcha, not just support.
And if you’re a kallah or a parent of a chosson/kallah, there may be no more beautiful way to begin marriage than by making another chuppah possible. It’s a zechus you carry with you into your new home—knowing that as you stand under your chuppah, another couple is standing under theirs with joy and dignity, thanks to you.
Because no kallah should walk to her chuppah worried about how her family will recover financially.
And no simcha should come at the cost of dignity.
