Welcome to Between Carpools. Ever wondered who is behind all these carpools?
We are 5 women, we’re just like you.
We pack lunches. We chase school buses that came too early. We throw in a load of laundry. We answer some emails. We throw in another load of laundry. We wonder what we should cook for dinner. We carpool. We prepare dinner. And we carpool again.
We are like you. We know what you need: Easy dinner ideas (nothing fancy please, or our family won’t eat it). Ways to simplify laundry. Chinuch tips. Some chizzuk here and there. Some shopping direction (read, what’s on sale and where). Life tips.
We are one of you. And we are here to make life simpler.
Between Carpools was born because we felt we can all use that “older sister” who knows the answer to everything. You know, the one you call when you need a good recipe for basic blintzes (yes, we have one). Or a tip on how to handle a newborn that just wouldn’t sleep (we have a lot to say on that too).
Have a look around. Chances are, you will find something helpful or inspiring. Or both.
And let us know what you think.
They say that behind every great man is a great woman.
We say, behind every great website there are 5 women hustling.
Victoria chats often with her readers on the pages of Ami Magazine and through her seven cookbooks (six are co-authored with Leah), including the Made Easy and Secret Restaurant Recipes cookbook series and Secrets of Skinny Cooking. She calls herself a writer first, because that’s how she loves to connect to you. Through Between Carpools, she’s excited to share the non-culinary side of her life. On our team, she’s also the spreadsheet-obsessed organizer, and the one that makes sure our posts and headlines are reader-friendly and exciting.
When she’s not busy doing any of the above, you will find Victoria either driving her boys to football league or in her kitchen testing a new recipe and holding one of these piping bags filled with something. Probably while also enjoying a sugar-free coffee slush.
The elegance! It must be a European thing. Born in Lugano, Switzerland, Renee brings consummate style and grace to the Between Carpools team as stylist, lifestyle and entertaining expert. Renee was a trailblazer in the food styling industry, beginning with her “A Tavola” column in Whisk and leading to becoming a sought after food stylist for top kosher brands and periodicals. Her “Our Table” cookbook, debuted in September, 2016.
When she’s not busy doing any of the above, you can find Renee taking joy in setting a pretty table (with flowers! That’s a must!) or packing lunch for her little one.
In her pocketbook, you will always find this great lip moisturizer. Who needs lipstick when you have this?
You know Leah as the best-selling author of Fresh & Easy Kosher Cooking and the co-author of the Made Easy and Secret Restaurant Recipes cookbook series, but we know her as the ultimate connector. She’s the one that networks constantly and is always making friends and discovering talent. She keeps us all moving with our eyes focused on the goal. Every team needs a mover, shaker, and motivator (and great recipe developer!) like Leah.
When she’s not busy doing any of the above, you will find Leah testing yet another way to enjoy pizza, or having lunch with some new talent she discovered.
You’ve seen her breathtaking shots in ad campaigns, lookbooks, on the pages of magazines, and on the walls of the homes of your family and friends. Now you see Esti’s work on Between Carpools, where every post is shot in-house. Esti is the uber-productive and super creative visionary with the camera, combining technical skills with a sense of style. Her weapon of choice? The Canon 5d MkIV. On the Between Carpools team, she shares her expertise both in her posts and in the images you see on the site.
When she’s not busy doing any of the above, you will find Esti outdoors using her iPhone to capture random bits of nature. And in her camera bag you will always find black Stila eyeliner and Mentos gum.
Shaindy is the genius behind some of the most successful marketed brands in the Jewish world today as the founder of My Design. It’s not only her design skills that keep our jaws dropped. She’s also a technical whiz, with a keen business mind to match. Shaindy has the expertise and know-how that confounds the rest of us. As the developer of Between Carpools, Shaindy gets the credit for its modern style, good looks, and ease of use.
When she’s not busy doing any of the above, you will find Shaindy sitting on the floor creating some exciting project with her kids. On her desk you will always find the lifepages planner and her favorite pens.
It can also be downloaded at your local TAG office.
