With one simple check-in, KIDO gives your children one more layer of protection. Why your child’s daycare needs KIDO, below.
Mornings can be a whirlwind. Between getting everyone packed and ready, coordinating carpools, and doing all your drop-offs, there’s a lot to keep track of before your day has even started.
So when we heard about KIDO’s check-in system, designed to help make sure no child is left behind in a car, we knew we wanted to share it with you.

KIDO is the brand-new system adding one more layer of protection by helping daycares confirm that every child actually made it into the building. Created alongside a parent who lost his child left in a car last year, KIDO set out to prevent this tragedy from ever occurring again. Since launching, the system has already alerted the families of six children who were expected at school but hadn’t been checked in.
How does it work? It’s so simple. Every child has a small KIDO tag attached to their backpack. As children arrive, their Morah taps each tag at the KIDO terminal. It takes a second and confirms the child has arrived.
If a child hasn’t been tapped in by the daycare’s designated time, KIDO automatically notifies their parent, either by phone call, text message, or email (whichever notification method the daycare chooses). If there’s no response, the alert automatically escalates.
It’s not a burden to teachers; they don’t have to take attendance, check who’s missing, and start calling or texting parents. It’s one tap, and KIDO takes care of the rest. The system doesn’t need internet to work, making it accessible to all!
The terminals are provided at no cost, and the monthly service fee is just $3 per child, a fee that parents are happy to cover!

There’s another reason to look into KIDO now. If your school or daycare is a 501(c)(3), grant funding may be available to cover the entire cost of the system, including the terminal, tags, and setup.
Note current grant deadlines:
New York SCAHC Grant: July 8
New Jersey NSGP Federal Grant: July 15
