It’s a great idea to start off the new year with a calmer erev Shabbos – these charts make it easier for both you and your children to get off to that great start.
While dreading the crunch of trying to check off all the items on my Erev Shabbos to-do list, an idea was born. There had to be a better way. And plus, we all have a chiyuv to count towards Shabbos every day. I always had a dream to design something that will help, and after pushing it off for too long, here it finally is.
I launched this project with my own siblings. We were in touch with Hadassah Dina Goldenberg (the florist of purplepetalsflorist.com and founder of the B’oi B’Shalom Project – an amazing woman who is totally devoted to welcoming Shabbos in the calmest, most beautiful way. She closes her business by Thursday night!). She spoke on our family conference line and gave over a beautiful message on the topic of Erev Shabbos. Now that we’ve started – we’ve just out to spread the word!
This is a chart to help organize tasks to get done each day of the week. Every family will know what works for them. For some people it means baking early in the week, for others, it’s the ironing. There are no rules. Just ideas. Do whatever works for you.

Here’s a chart to encourage your little helpers! They can color it in and then use any stickers or simply checks to fill it all up.
All ideas and feedback welcome!

I know Dina. What she’s doing is truly amazing!!! They should feature her on Between Carpools!
Hi I read the article in the ami living about the Boi B’shalom shabbos project. It really sounds amazing! I know there is a children’s and women’s erev shabbos Tehillim program. I was wondering where I can get more info about this if we would like to start in our neighborhood.
Love the weekly task organizer and this idea!! It’s something we all want to do thank you for a concrete way to make it happen!
Avigail you are our inspiration!!!!!
FYI Avigail also runs an Erev Shabbos program shortly before Hadlaka in her home for the lucky little kids in her neighbourhood, replete with a theme song (with motions) and stories and activities! Avigail can you post the songs you use? Maybe some readers can use them too to get groups going in their neighborhood!
