Often, you want to take the opportunity of Purim to say thank you and give something that’s more lasting with your mishloach manos.
The mitzvah of Miishloach Manos is about the food, gifting two types of food to one person satisfies the obligation of food for the seudah.
But sometimes we want to go a little further. Along with the gift of food, we want to present an extra gift. It can be something small and relatively inexpensive, or it can be something substantial when we want to express some appreciation or respect to the recipient. We can get creative with how we present a gift along with food, or we can just use a gift that’s intended to be used with food!
From practical to extravagant or whimsical, there are so many nice gifts we can use to present our mishloach manos. We chose a few, but the options out there are almost limitless. Walk through your local gift shop, Target or Home Goods and you’ll probably find something beautiful. Try to think of your recipient’s taste and style so they’ll really enjoy using the gift.
A great serving bowl filled with salad components, a beautiful cutting board with an arrangement of cut fruit and cheese or a cookie jar filled with homemade caramels – these gifts will keep on giving!
