How to Play the Candy Game at Your Party

There’s no winners, but there’s lots of entertainment and fun.

We were planning a BCP night out, with the five of us, plus all the amazing ladies who work behind the scenes to help make Between Carpools run (thank you Tzila, Sarifka, Natalie, and Reena!).

Since most of us work “virually,” i.e. in our own homes most of the time, it would be the first time all of us were together and we wanted to plan a fun evening, including a game!

While researching different “getting to know you” type games, I came across this idea. First, you’ll need to think of “questions” or “categories.”

Here’s ours–think of your own ideas that might be relevant to your family or crowd.

Shaindy designed our “game board” – you can download it here and fill out your own categories!

Then, Skittles, or any candy of your choice (the more colors it comes in, the better) go into a jar. You’ll also place a candy next to each category. Everyone picks a candy–then they need to answer the question next to the color candy that they chose.

We wanted to add a twist–so we added this jar of coins to the game. Everyone could choose–do you want to pick a coin or pick a candy? What do you have to do if you pick a coin? Look at the year, then tell us about something that was happening in your life during the year (yes, it’s possible that you weren’t born, but there’s always something to say!)

We learned so much about each other playing this game–not only about the people we were meeting “in person” for the first time–but also about our friends whom we know for a really, really long time!

We also played the Candy Game at the Best of Kosher Launch Party (we used the coin jar as the “penalty” for those who did not want to answer their questions!). Instead of the typical panel, each cookbook author got up on stage and picked a candy–and we learned something new about everyone!
