How about refreshing your closet with some new comfy pjs?
Do you find yourself always looking for the same one or two pairs of pajamas because they’re the only ones you like? The ones that are comfortable, fun looking and also can be worn in front of our kids?
Somehow, our pajamas seem to fall to the bottom of the shopping list even though they’re worn more than anything else! The kids are growing and need new ones. Seasons change and we need new outfits. But maybe this is something that should get attention, too.
We rounded up some options that are comfortable and modest. Of course, everyone’s standards are different, but there should be something in there for all of us. And while you’re at it, maybe have your teens choose a new pair, too!
Cute pyjamas… But what’s your definition of modest?
I have tried the pajamas from SHEIN in the past but they are made with cheap material and don’t absorb any moisture leaving you sweating all night.
Where are the nightgown I don’t wear these type of pajamas
love!! the hm ones are great! the alo soho sets are a splurge but also really good, have them for years
Agree with Chani… these open neck pajamas are really not modest
What’s wrong with wearing that? You’re going to sleep. for goodness sake. It is not lingerie!
It says in the opening lines of this post that it can be worn if front of the kids.
right, whats wrong with wearing that in front of kids?
Older boys shouldnt be seeing you in pants altogether ……
They probably meant it for the many people that are more lenient with necklines if they’re staying home/sleeping. And you can just throw a long slinky skirt over the pants also.
What’s more lenient for one is mehadrin for another. Labelling doesn’t help. Here is a post on PAJAMAS FROM SECULAR STORES. If this isn’t what you wear, scroll on
Yes, everyone has their own standards – some will wear nothing less then a nightgown with a closed night gown while others wear something completely different.
Point is, this is a public forum and it’s setting a standard as what is considered OK stated as a fact.
It’s an achrayus to state something as OK when it’s not holding up to a high standard…and that’s the bottom line (and not having a back and forth about what is and isn’t OK to wear for pajama’s).
Agree!!
To make button up pyjamas with a wide neck more covered, I’ve used a ‘snap’ button (the type that pops into place and isn’t visible on the outside). I don’t “know” how to sew, I just stitch it there myself quickly. Anyone on any sewing level can do that! I hope this helps some people. Remember, you can always wear a dressing gown / slinky and hoodie over PJ’s in front of your children. There are different rabonim who each give a different psak about most halachic matters. Nuanced halacha is often not black and white. But perhaps BCP might want to consider having a named posek to consult about any post like this one. It would mean that more people get clear on the halacha, besides for knowing which pj’s to buy, which would be a greater benefit to klal yisrael.
I’d assume that the audience on here — married women — are sensible enough to make their own halachic decisions and are aware enough to ask a Rav if they’re unsure whether something so right for them or not. BCP are just being helpful! It’s not for everyone and that’s fine.
They’re just sharing the pajamas that they like. I think that most women are mature enough to decide for themselves (or ask a Rav if they want) about what to wear for pajamas.
It’s ok everyone. This post is for people who find this helpful. that’s all. Are your standards that weak that seeing someone do different makes it fall apart?
Yes. It’s called being human.
A person’s standards should not be changing based off seeing that there are other people who do different things. Chill and move on if you wouldn’t wear this.
Thanks for saying this!
Would love a post about nightgowns too please!!
