These are great protein-loaded, healthful and satiating swaps for your sweet or salty tooth.
After seeing the response to these Protein Cookie Dough Bites, it seems that many of you are looking for more ways to get your protein.
I know there are some skeptics out there. The ones who say, “I rather each chicken.” We know who you are. But sometimes we need other sources that isn’t chicken.
And sometimes, we’re just tired of tuna fish or eggs. Sometimes we need to grab something on the go. And we know that if we grab something sugary, we’re just going to crash. And if we grab something with empty carbs, it’ll just make us feel hungrier than when we started.
When things are loaded with protein, though, they’re satiating. Protein bars can often be a grab and go solution, but often they have more calories than they’re worth, and they often have sugar and other added things that we might not want.
So here are some more suggestions of easy to grab protein-loaded items that might hit the spot for you!

Let’s start with our favorite protein powder. Let’s say you’re in the mood for a milkshake.

We’ve tried protein powders before. And frankly, we haven’t found a great Chalav Yisrael one on the market that we like. Until we came across Qualify Protein Powder!

It’s made in Israel by Tnuva, a trusted brand. And it’s actually delicious! And the price is right too! And there’s the most protein bang for the buck with 25 grams of protein per 130 calorie serving–that means you’re not getting extra sugar or carbs with your protein.
There’s lots of flavors. Each of us have our different preferences (other BCP members like the Chocolate and Cookies and Cream).
I’m sure you can get very creative with these protein powders and create delicious, filling, nutritious shakes of all types. I mostly keep things simple with the Creamy French Vanilla flavor.

I find that I like the ratios of 1 cup ice (not more) + 1 cup milk + 1 scoop/serving of protein powder.
Blend it together but don’t overblend to keep that nice, thick, milkshake consistency.
Sometimes I like to add a little pistachio powder (yes, I know it’s junky and artificial…but just a tinsy tinsy bit gives it a little of that spumoni flavor). I add it at the end, after the shake is already blended.
This is great for when you’re on the go and need something filling to take along with you.
What about those other protein sources?

What if you’re in a different type of mood…let’s say you want something salty and crunchy like potato chips? This Crunchy Edamame Snack is excellent.
Or what if you’re in the mood for something that feels carby and crunchy (lots of protein items just aren’t). Catalina Cereal is a great item to have on hand when you want that crunch. It has much more protein per serving vs. other cereal with “protein added.” Which flavor? They’re all solid, it really depends on your preference.
What if you’re in the mood for chocolate or something fudgy? In the Cookie Dough post, I wrote about Barney Almond Butter Powder. The Chocolate version is also decent. I find that it doesn’t need any sweetener at all and tastes almost like a hot cocoa that you eat with a spoon. I haven’t gotten creative with it yet, but it definitely has potential.

Thanks for a great list!! Some others I’ve come across- Bada Bean fava beans. Kind granola -says OU-D, but I called the OU and it’s dairy equipment only, but call your LOR
