Little Gifts for the Bride to Be

Mazal tov! Your son is engaged and you want to spoil his kallah silly! We have some fun and festive gift ideas for you.

Some of us love to give gifts and have a knack for choosing just the right thing. And if you’re not so good at it but still love to shower your loved ones with gifts, we’re here with a little bit of help.

We’re not talking about the big tickets here. The jewelry, the candlesticks – those gifts depend a lot on cultural and community norms that vary. And we didn’t choose things that are very personal. Chances are you don’t know this young woman well enough to choose a perfume or handbag for her. (If you do want to buy those things, we recommend reaching out to her mother and/or sisters to get some input.)

We put together some ideas that are cute and fun, and some that are more luxurious and pampering. And, of course, we’d love to hear from all of you in the comments. What are some of the best kallah gifts you’ve given, gotten or heard about?

I got a high-end jewelry roll (with a matching cosmetic bag) from Stephanie Johnson at a more reasonable price than the one posted. Also, other nice gift ideas are a lucite shaitel head or even a pair of ugg slippers.

I’m a kallah teacher and I’m like “Nooooo! Please don’t buy white PJs!”

Some kehillos specifically have the minhag to wear white pajamas at specific times.

I got a cute sheital box from my MIL and I really appreciated it- it was very practical and the type of thing thats hard to think of yourself.
just wanted to point out that usually the kallahs friends at the wedding give her a water bottle (and sometimes 2), which are usually costomized, so I would skip the water bottle

These are such nice ideas but to all those who are struggling to make ends meet while making a wedding- you can show your Kallah lots of love in many other ways.
Being a Kallah is the biggest gift itself and if you don’t have the means to buy fancy gifts for your kallah don’t worry you’re not alone!

Just got myself a pressed flower frame, got two sizes. Placed some florals from my dried up kallah bouquet (will not reveal how old it was!) to display and its really pretty! Can make a nice gift for the kallah, and as her friends/family you can make sure that at the wedding the bouquet doesnt disappear and she can take it home!

There’s a woman in Boro Park who makes custom card games. Such an adorable way for a kallah to get to know her new family—and it doubles as the cutest brag book! She has multiple game styles and lots of customization options. Text her 646-374-8018

My MIL gave me a recipe holder with many hand written recipes of the food my husband loves. I Still use those recipes 15 years later.
