Make a Prize Ball Using Saran Wrap

This ball is great fun for parties! Plus, you can prep ahead and it’s ready to toss around once Chanukah arrives. Your kids and guests will love!

This one is a no brainer. It’ll keep the kids delighted and busy.

While this might seem similar to the “pass the present” concept, we like it even better. The plastic wrap adds a bit of intrigue. That’s because you can make out the prizes through the clear plastic wrap, but you don’t really know how deep each prize is. So, when it’s your turn to unwrap a layer of the ball, you’re still not sure what’s going to fall out.

Plus, plastic wrap makes for a ball that’s fun and easy to toss.

Small prizes, dreidels, candy, chocolate coins, money, and Saran Wrap.

First, collect some small prizes, dreidels, chocolates, and money–flatter smaller things work best. Tailor the prizes you use to the crowd.

Start with a ball as your base. Any type of small ball will work.

Cover with plastic wrap, add a prize, and cover with another piece of plastic wrap to secure it.

Keep going, adding layer after layer.

Cash really works great in this ball because it’s nice and flat. It also helps in extending the age range of guests who will enjoy it.

Your ball will grow and grow as each prize is added. You can do this now!

Put your ball away and take it out when it’s time to play.

You can either play the traditional “pass the present” way (tossing the ball around and when the music stops, the person unwraps). Or, make up your own rules. For example, you can play monkey in the middle. If you catch the ball when two other people are tossing back and forth, you get to unwrap a layer.

It’s also really fun if you try to unwrap using kitchen gloves, makes it really funny! You only have the time from when the next person spins the dreidel and lands on a gimmel to unwrap!
