The Technology Yom Iyun will give you the tools you need for the long stretch of summer days ahead.
Summer is here and that means long stretches of time with little to no structure. Whether you are a no-tech home, a low-tech home or a home where technology is part of everyday life, in your child’s mind “EVERYONE gets more screen time than I do.”
So what do you say?
“No.”
“Not now.”
“Let me think about it.”
“Fine!”
No matter what you say, it’s HARD to feel confident in the choices you make and the limits you set.
And if you’re wishy-washy about tech limits, you’re in for a lot of kvetching!
Technology is changing SO fast. It’s hard to keep up. It’s hard to know what is really happening in other people’s homes. It’s hard to know what content to allow and for how long. Where do you start?
The Technology Yom Iyun
A FREE Online event, June 16th and 17th.
Two days. Nine speakers. Diverse perspectives on the role of technology in Jewish life, screen time limits, brain research, the impact of social media on frum kids, how to effectively filter your devices and how to talk to your kids about the decisions you’ve made based on your family values.

The event is hosted by Dr. Ilyssa Bass, Psychologist, Parent Educator and host of the annual Parenting Complex Kids Summit. “The goal of the event is to give parents accurate information and different perspectives so they can make their own decisions about what is right for their family. It is such an important topic right now. There is important information parents need to know; I learned so much interviewing these experts.”

“I want parents to go into the summer feeling good about the choices they’ve made and having tools to weather the whining about screens,” says Dr. Bass, “I also want parents to have the information to share with their kids about the impact of technology on brain development, potential risks when socializing on devices and how to filter the technology kids are using. Our kids are going to ask about technology and they deserve a well thought out, clear, confident response. Ultimately, we want to raise adults who make good choices.”
So, before the summer requests for screen time begin, get confident about the choices you are making for your family. The key to less meltdowns about screentime is the conversations you have before the moments of tension. What do those conversations look like? Find out this June 16th and 17th at The Technology Yom Iyun!
