No more dreaded grease stains – this product removes them even after they’ve gone through the dryer!
When I saw this product advertised as being capable of removing old grease stains, I was skeptical. When I saw the hefty price tag, it almost seemed like a scam. But, in the name of testing the best products for our Between Carpools readers, I ordered a bottle of De-Solv-It.
This stuff works!!!
I first tested it on an outgrown and faded sweatshirt dress. It had multiple old stains, including some crafting ones (glue, paint – don’t know what). I didn’t read the instructions and just sprayed the product on the stains and washed. They got lighter but didn’t go away. Then I read the bottle and saw that the fabric needs to be wet before applying the stain. I tried it again and it worked! The stains were completely gone!
Next I tried them on a pair of chinos. They were in the discard pile after a pre-Pesach purge because of a nice sized stubborn grease stain. I figured it couldn’t hurt. The stain disappeared completely!
After treating a few more items, I realized I had a problem. I had to search for something that had a stain so I could photograph it for you!
The only thing I came up with was this sweatshirt that had a couple of old stains. Not the ideal photo shoot candidate, but I wanted to keep things honest. So I photographed the process and now you can see.
Here and then gone!
Because this product is expensive, I recommend you stick with your basic stain removers first. If a stain is particularly hard to remove, go for the good stuff!
*Note: You can’t use this product together with Oxy type products. Also, it leaves a funky smell that goes away after drying.
