Salad has never been presented like this, and salad has never tasted like this either. Send the The Salad Board to your hostess or to a simcha.
My first encounter with The Salad Board was last Purim when my in-laws received it as mishloach manot. It was definitely the centerpiece salad that was fit for the seudah!

And when all the leftovers were being packed up, I claimed The Salad Board. It was just so fresh and the ingredients were so premium, I knew I would enjoy it for the next few days to come.
So, when Fraidy of The Salad Board was in touch with us at Between Carpools, I already knew it was a gorgeous product that we’d be happy to share with our audience.

The Salad Board is one of those premium gifts that you send to someone for a simcha or to your Yom Tov hostess (pricing starts at $129). You’re crossing two things off their list–you’re giving them something magnificent to serve, plus the acacia wood board with accompanying serving pieces and dressing jar is a keepsake they’ll use again and again.
I found that the elevated board is especially beautiful and worth the upgrade. It’s just wow. (While the photos are beautiful, it’s even more beautiful in person.)
Just let them know ahead of time that “the salad is coming!” so they know that they can cross it off their list!
The Salad Boards aren’t your typical commercial salads. You’ve probably never had a salad like it–the ingredients are housemade (like mushroom jerky) and super fresh. Even the grilled marks on those grilled vegetables are all perfect. When I asked Fraidy why she uses pine nuts “They’re so expensive!” I said. She responded, “Because they have the right flavor!” There are no compromises here.
Underneath those gorgeous rows of veggies is lots and lots of fresh kale and mixed greens.

When she was living in Eretz Yisrael, Fraidy cooked and hosted–a lot. And it was really the salads that she loved serving. She spent time making them beautiful and gourmet, researching different flavors and learning what ingredients work best together. There is a lot of wisdom behind these salads.
The Salad Board, based in Lakewood, NJ, was the eventual result of this research.
The Salad Boards are sent shrink-wrapped so they stay fresh and can easily be delivered–once they’re unwrapped, they expand. I found that even though “the Classic size” says it serves 6-8 people, that’s really being generous. It’s really big and suitable for a crowd.
When serving, just drizzle the dressing on top. Or, leave the dressing on the side and let each guest add their own. It’s delicious and it works either way. You can toss it, but you don’t need to. Because it’s on a board and not in a bowl, when each guest scoops up some salad, they’ll get a nice balance of lettuce and toppings.
Feature The Salad Board at a Kiddush, at a Bar Mitzvah, Sheva Brachos, office parties, hostess gifts…(and yes, for those really special mishloach manos once Purim comes).
The three most popular varieties are the Salad Board Signature (more different) The Grilled Veggie Garden (different but still familiar) and The Portobello Mushroom Blend (more typical).
