Frozen pizza dough usually takes a couple of hours to thaw at room temperature. Or it takes two minutes in the microwave.
There are some things in life that are so ‘duh’ that I wonder why it took me 17 years to figure out. But if I didn’t figure this out until now, then perhaps there’s someone out there who hasn’t yet either.
Over here, Thursday night is usually a pizza night. I make a fresh batch of dough one week, use half and freeze half.
You only want to microwave the pizza dough for JUST the amount of time that it takes to thaw and no more, so that it doesn’t start to cook.
Any tips if I have a microwave used only for meat?
I would recommend using a microwave https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microwave_oven only for heating food. For cooking, it is better to use the oven, desirable electrical. Microwave ovens are more correct to use for industrial purposes.
Thank you!!! I don’t know why I never thought of this! The frozen dough takes forever to defrost. I never take it out early enough. I also did the lawn chair thing…
Can you please post about making a batch of pizza dough using half and freezing half? It would be veery interesting! Thx.
You can also do very simple trick of rolling the dough out flat before freezing it to the size/shape you will be using
Takes seconds to defrost (and in a pinch, you can throw sauce and cheese over a frozen dough and pop in the oven)
Delicious fresh pizza seconds after taking our of the freezer!!
Genius!!
