You’ll feel so much better when, instead of that stuff, you have: SPACE!
I would like to dispel a myth: Decluttering isn’t part of Pesach cleaning. I beg to differ. How could we ensure that there’s no chometz in our home if there’s clutter everywhere? Who knows what’s lurking behind that pile over there?
So here are some tips to get rid of clutter ASAP:
- Make 3 piles
* put away
* giveaway
* garbage. Use clear trash bags for giveaways and black or white ones for garbage so you won’t mix them up. - Make quick decisions
Ask yourself: Do I like it? Do I need it? Have I used it recently?
No? So get rid of it. - No peeking!
Now is not the time to organize sentimental items like pictures and letters. Just pack it away in a bin without looking at it. - Keep it simple and uncomplicated
All those questions like “what if I’ll need it” and “maybe someday I’ll need it” will get in your way. There’s no end to that. If you’re not sure, it’s probably because you don’t need it! - Keep your eyes on the prize
Remember, you’re going to get something way better: You’re going to get SPACE! - Don’t forget to finish!
You’re not done until you remove the giveaways and garbage bags out of the house.
Although decluttering can be stressful, it’s the most impactful part of keeping an organized home. And it’s free!
My tip: Aways remember to have fun along the way! Everything can be turned into a fun family project with some creativity… ENJOY!
Love the attitude!
Best Tip my mother ever told me “When in doubt throw it out!”
Smart!
My mother says that too! :))
Thank you for these tips! Another thing I really want to mention is cleaning the air conditioner filters. That won’t help you get rid of clutter, but will definitely improve the air quality in your home. Having dirty filters, you could also notice that your furniture and textiles gather dust quicker and you need to do damp cleaning more often.
Yes, it’s important to clean filters at least once every two months. But you may need to clean them more often in peak seasons when you use ac on a daily basis.
This quickly turned into an advertisement for many different companies. Very annoying when you want genuine tips and post related conversation.
