When choosing a high chair, you know there are certain features that are important to you, others not as much. This guide will help you sort through the better high chairs and find the one that fits your baby and family needs the most.
Bringing baby to the table is one of the most exciting milestones of the first year. Once your baby can sit up unaided, he can watch, observe and be a part of what’s going on while the whole family eats. Having a simple-to-use, easy-to-clean highchair can be the difference between a manageable mealtime and a full-blown explosion of mess in the kitchen. Here is a round-up of the most popular highchairs.
Thank you to the BCP readers who offered their recommendations.
I found that the primo cozy tot deluxe is a great high chair. It’s affordable (80 on bed bath if you’re a member, 100 if not, can get on amazon too for 100), easy to clean, small, foldable, and comes with 2 trays! Comes in 2 nice colors.
Yes! Big fan of the primo as well. Great price (look out for open boxes on Amazon, got mine for $50), easy to clean, takes very little space
IKEA also sells a support pillow and covers for it, so that covers for the “no paddding” con.
I highly recommend this high chair!
I searched for it in England and found it on Amazon UK under the brand ‘vital baby’. It is the same with an additional thin removable padding on the seat.
It has many advantages. Very compact, comfortable, super practical, easy to clean, foldable and the ‘double tray’ is a real winner! It is dishwasher safe too!
Highly recommend this high chair!

The Cocoon had all the features I wanted so I purchased it. I was very disappointed though because it cracked on both sides by the circle and totally collapsed. I looked at my friends cocoon and I showed her where hers was also cracking. The company reimbursed me and I purchased the 4moms(older style). It does not recline but I am thrilled with it.
How could you forget the NOMI!
We have and love the siesta, found a much cheaper price AND leatherette seat cusion so that it’s easy to wipe down and is not fabric. Love that it has a tray and then a tray on top, i use the top for milk and pop it off and use the bottom tray for meat! Also, there are hooks on the back of the legs to store the tray, along with a picket on the back of the seat to store bibs. And it is so comfy that my baby absolutely adores sitting in it
I love the boon!
I have the Ikea highchair with costume parts from https://www.yeahbabygoods.com/pages/customizer.
They sell footrests, cushions, leg wraps etc all costume to your taste!
I’m in the process of getting a high chair so thanks for this post! Debating between the 4moms, Melo or the Prince Castle. Any advise would be appreciated!
I don’t love the look of the Prince Castle but is practicality above all?? Is Melo worth the price? Also, it looks tiny.. Are ppl happy with 4moms-even the new version? Thank you!
the ikea high chair is cheaper then it says, it really is 14.99
but it’s great!
Babyluxe is a fabulous high chair that folds almost flat! It costs about 100, but can be gotten on sale for about $50. They sell extra trays-even one that says pesach!
