Fresh, hot churros + no mess. Pipe and Dash Churro Batter is coming to your freezer section this week.
“Wouldn’t it be great if we could give people the ability to have homemade churros–without the mess?”
Leah H. liked to experiment in the kitchen, refining recipes until they were perfect–and that eventually turned into a donut business that she launched almost three years ago.
“We finally found the perfect balance to make the most delicious donuts,” her husband Yaakov tells us. “But it’s one thing to sell donuts–it’s another to make it easier, convenient, and also affordable for anyone anywhere to have fresh donuts anytime, without a mess.”
Churros were donut’s hipper, trendier cousin that were growing in popularity. Plus, churros were simpler to make. Simply pipe batter into the oil. But what if that batter came, ready in its piping bag, complete with the star tip, ready to fry?

That was Yaakov’s vision. Make it easier for the home cook. Keep the quality top notch.
Adapting the batter so it could work commercially was a process that took a couple of years…it had to freeze well, be easy to pipe, and be just as good as the homemade version they were mixing up in their own kitchen.

Finally…Pipe and Dash was ready to come to your freezer in three flavors: original, cinnamon, and chocolate. The original are the classic white churros you’re used to. Cinnamon flavor results in a light brown golden churro, and the chocolate ones have just the right balance of cocoa (+ don’t forget to add your dip).

We gave it a whirl. While Between Carpools has an amazing dessert idea you can serve using Pipe and Dash batter coming up, we wanted to just try out the product first.
Since we personally will save the frying for wintertime, how about an air-fry?
“I couldn’t believe it,” Victoria said. “I piped the batter out on my baking sheet and sprayed with cooking spray. I used the air-fry setting on my oven. Ten minutes later, the churros came out of the oven, crispy and perfect. I quickly tossed them into cinnamon and sugar. They tasted fried–even though I didn’t use any oil.”

Tip: If you freeze the raw churros on the baking sheet, the churros will better maintain their shape, rather than becoming flat when air-frying.
Of course, Yaakov’s favorite method of preparing the churros is the traditional way, fried!
And, yes, although you can make these churros yourself, you can still order Pipe and Dash’s donuts, all ready to eat by text/WhatsApp/phone at 516-406-0838.
