We caught up with Nechama Rotshtein, parenting coach at www.kavanaparenting.com and the woman behind Sefer V’Zakeini, to hear why every home should have a copy.
‘I’ve always loved unique tefillos,’ Nechama explains, ‘When I was single, I had found a beautiful Otzar Kallah, a collection of tefillos for a kallah on her wedding day, by Mrs. Chani Feldbrand, that I began giving out to my friends as gifts. As I was patiently waiting my turn it occurred to me, why was I waiting to daven? My husband, wherever he was, could surely use my tefillos already! And so, I started davening from the list for Yom HaChuppah, and V’Zakeini was born. I continued to amass a collection of tefillos, far beyond just Yom HaChuppah.
“As I moved through life, my tefillah collection continued to rapidly expand. I knew I had to somehow share these tefillos, but I wasn’t sure how. 16 years ago, Rabbi Shlomo Bochner of Bonei Olam came to speak in Cleveland, where I live. I was so inspired by Bonei Olam’s mission, and knew I wanted to support them in some way. And so the idea for Sefer V’Zakeini was born: I would find a way to publish these tefillos and all the proceeds would go to Bonei Olam as a personal project to help support couples struggling with infertility.”
