Where to turn if you or someone you know needs information and help
When a reader asked for eating disorder resources, we didn’t have information, but we did want to help. In order to gather this information, we asked you, our readers to share what you know. Thank you for helping us guide other readers!
One thing we noticed: the resources below cover many geographic regions, well beyond the Tristate Area.
Note that duplicate comments/advice were combined.

– We recently moved into an area in Jackson that now has 4 frum families and pioneering with us is a Rav and Rebbitzen Tzvi and Bracha Steinberg. Rabbi Steinberg, originally from Denver, is an expert in eating disorders and has opened a center in Jackson. The number is 303-476-3909 www.Garycarecenter.com.
– This isn’t specifically a resource for frum people, but the book Brave Girl Eating should be required reading for any mother or therapist trying to help someone through an eating disorder.
It should NOT be read by someone with an eating disorder.
– Magen Avrohom Brooklyn www.magenavrohom.com
– My sister Adina Silverman is a dietitian who specializes in eating disorders. She is based in Baltimore but sees clients over Zoom. She has 10+ years of experience in this area and she’s fabulous. You can contact her at adinafradkinrd@gmail.com

Sod haadam course has many powerful healing teqniques for mothers of girls with eating disorders to implement. I personally know 3 different cases of eating disorders who saw tremendous shifts after implementing her approach on their child who was struggling.
