This is one of those topics we all want help with…but nobody wants to talk about.

Recommended Products

Sweat Shield Wipes

These get the most mentions from our readers. Convenient, easy to use, and they actually work.

Recommended Products

Sweat Vest

A reader swore by this after trying it years ago. Great for working out or helping you sweat intentionally to regulate later.

Recommended Products

Underarm Pads

Stick them inside your shirt to absorb sweat. Great for events. Doesn’t work on all fabrics though.

Deodorants & Antiperspirants

Dry Idea Deodorant

Classic, no-frills option that many say prevents sweat if used consistently.

Deodorants & Antiperspirants

Lume

A full-body deodorant people really love. Works beyond just underarms. Note: One reader mentioned Lume left stains. Always patch test or try a small amount first.

Deodorants & Antiperspirants

Certain Dri

A stronger option—often recommended by dermatologists. Use sparingly, as it can irritate sensitive skin.

Deodorants & Antiperspirants

Carpe Deodorant

A derm-recommended brand with specific formulas for underarms, hands, feet, and more.

Deodorants & Antiperspirants

TripleDry (UK readers!)

Available at Boots or Superdrug, and highly praised.

Natural Options & Detoxes

Glycolic Acid

(Apply with cotton pad). Helps eliminate odor-causing bacteria.

Natural Options & Detoxes

Benzoyl Peroxide Wash

Not a deodorant, but kills odor-causing bacteria. From a reader: “Sweat doesn’t smell—bacteria does. Killing the bacteria (with BP or glycolic acid) can make a huge difference.”

Natural Options & Detoxes

Earthy LDIP Detox

A natural detox option to transition to non-toxic deodorants.

Diet Tweaks

Some reported success by reducing processed foods and eating more whole foods. Vitamin D and B12 can make a difference especially if you are low.

Treatments That Go Deeper

Botox

Surprisingly effective for underarm sweating. It’s temporary (lasts months), but many say it’s life-changing. Some even had insurance cover it—worth checking! From a reader: “I’ve had Botox and I’m a huge fan. If you’re hesitant about injectables—this one’s so worth it.”

Treatments That Go Deeper

Miradry

This one’s intense and pricey but long-lasting. It’s a permanent treatment for underarm sweat using thermal energy. Some love it—”best thing I’ve ever done!”Others struggled with swelling and pain after treatment, or experienced compensatory sweating (more sweat elsewhere, like upper lip or back). “I only did one Miradry treatment because it was so painful, but my underarm sweating is down by 70%. I can finally wear whatever I want in summer.” More feedback: “Miradry worked for me—but my swelling was no joke. Took a full week to go down.”

Acupuncture & Other Options

Acupuncture

One reader reduced sweating from a 10 to a 3 with a few targeted sessions. Some report sweating began after major life events that involves trauma or stress. Acupuncture or therapy may help in these cases.

By Prescription

Drysol

A common prescription solution. Some say it reduced underarm sweat permanently—though they began to sweat more in other places, as the body still needs a place for the sweat to go.

By Prescription

HyperCare

20% aluminum chloride. Strong, effective, and often used short-term to manage severe sweating. From a reader: “HyperCare (prescription deodorant 20% alum chloride) was amazing. I used it for a few years in high school/sem and now I just use regular deodorant and that’s all I need. And I didn’t become sweaty anywhere else [such as what happens with other solutions].”

Devices

Iontophoresis Machine

Dermatologist-recommended and non-invasive. Great for teens. Needs regular use.

I’m sorry to leave a negative comment, but this post makes me so sad. Most of these things are really unhealthy long term that are trying to suppress a natural function of the body. Try to focus on absorbtion (underarm pads etc) as opposed to suppressing sweat. Sweating is one of the body’s ways of getting rid of toxins. There’s a reason Hashem made it.

Ladies! I have hiperhidrosis and have tried many things over the years (Certaindry, Drysol, iontophoresis, etc.) with little to no results. I have since learned that those things aren’t good for my body anyway! But I will tell you the BEST thing I have done for myself – have more self-confidence! Someone makes a disgusted face and lets go of my hand at a simcha? (Yes, it’s happened many times.) Then I realize, let that be her deal! If she doesn’t like the sweat she can hold someone else’s hand. It doesn’t make me a gross person or a less-than human being. No, I’m not going to take a job in the copyroom of the school where I have to touch thousands of papers with my sweaty hands. Cotton shirts help, and of course a natural deodorant (which is usually fine without even needing to reapply on regular days). Hashem made me sweaty! I don’t know why, but I’m going to take care of and respect my body without trying to “fix it” with toxins.

Dollar tree sells a stick that’s aluminum free and really works great. It’s made from essential oils so smells a little more men’s but not bad. It’s from the sauve company a green stick, rosemary + mint.

clinical strength deodorant which contain high levels of aluminum can mess up girls/womens monthly cycles.
My pediatrician recommended Antibacterial Bar soap, which kills the germs that causes the odor.
Actual sweat doesnt have a bad odor, the germs do.

I don’t know if it was just me but I think it’s important to mention so you can do your own research before trying. I got certain dri after reading a few comments about it here on BCP. I tried it twice on moderately warm days and both times I got crazy heat flashes to the point where I could not handle and didn’t know what to do with myself. It took until the second time for me to realize the cause. I washed it off and felt much better. Sweat is there for a reason!

I also got it and it was great for a while. Then I started getting almost chemical burns from it. I guess we sometimes need to accept our humanness and just be allowed to sweat 🙂
I’m not talking about extreme or difficult sweating, I mean normal day to day..is normal

I’ve been struggling with sweat under my arms for years and I’ve tried pretty much everything out there, wipes, different types of deodorants, I also wore shields… but nothing worked for me, then I realized I have hyperhydrosis which means that I have too many sweat glands under my arms. I did one round of miradry treatment and it was a game changer for me, I felt comfortable wearing any color or fabric and didn’t have to worry about the sweat stains under my arms, my arms were swollen for about a week or 2 after the miradry, but got better each day.
I would highly recommend going for 2 rounds of miradry to get the best results
