      I live my daily life in the moment but also plan ahead. I have all my costumes and stuff bought. I need to be thrifty so I buy on temu months in advance… It’s not a contradiction. But everyone should do what is easiest for them. I know ppl who stress about planning in advance so this doesn’t work for them. But it works for me!

    tooth fairy (or malach), dentist, sleeping child in pajamas, can give out “lays” potato chips because they were “laying down” candy teeth, cotton candy (aka sugar “floss”), candy toothbrush and toothpaste, apple (an apple a day keeps the “dentist ” away)….

      I did this last year. My boys were police. My daughter was a fancy lady (whose things were stolen) and the baby was a prisoner. Easiest baby prisoner costume: Black stretchy, white thick duck tape to make stripes, and then I took my boy’s black shluff kopel, turned it inside out and put white stripes on that too as a hat. The pictures were fantastic. My daughter in the background looking horrified, baby running away, and police boys running after the baby. It was soooo cute.

      cupcakes/cookies with animal shaped sprinkles (can get the sprinkles on amazon with an ou hechser i think the brand is wilson)

      I did that one year. Simple cupcakes frosted and topped with butterfly made out of fondant. Was very cool

      We did butterfly snack bags one year- you can google it for lots of ideas, basically divide a snack bag in half with a clothespin and fill each side with something else, draw a face on the clothespin in the middle and use pipe cleaners for the antennae- it comes out adorable!!!

      I like to make cupcakes and decorate cupcake boxes- you could find a box with a circle window and then print out magnifying glasses and cut out center and place over box?
      Then put question marks or foot prints on the cupcake.
      Thumbprint cookies? Like fingerprints
      lemonade drink and label it invisible ink?
      Cellophane bag with a chocolate twizzler as a hair found at the scene

      For mishloach manos you could do yerushalmi kugulettes and a pickle
      For the girls, maybe have them dress as something gold? Goldfish? Gold stars?

      girls can be rabbanit. get black long teird dress on Amazon with necklaces and bracelets. dark bandana or tie a kerchief under their chin. Or Yerushalmi girls; dress them in old-fashioned dresses (like when you were a kid, plaid with a white embroidered collar) and braid their and wear white tights
