Here are the details on how you can recreate this upsherin party that’s pretty and fresh and perfect for a little boy.
When one reader shared all the DIY details of her recent upsherin, we were amazing at how she was able to create such adorable details that are brilliant, yet completely approachable.
We borrowed her props and brought them to our studio so we could take photos of the cute little details that we loved.

These little boats by each place setting say it all. They’re simply light blue cardstock that was hand folded. (You can find instructions on Origami websites on “How to Fold a Paper Boat.”)
And, of course, the little lifesavers are so perfectly cute.

These coloring pages were created on Canva. Did you know they have free customizable coloring sheet templates? That was news to us. The Coloring Sheet and Placemats were printed at BP Print Group. Pessy was able to use the same anchor design for her Rice Krispie Treats and Pekelach.

Now, let’s peek into the actual party and see more of the little details. You can find the wooden stand that’s holding the pekelach over here.

On the table, she used these thin wood grain frames in different sizes and these twine-wrapped bud vases. So simple, yet so pretty and fresh!

The kids table with the coloring pages has the same theme in reverse.

These striped tablecloths from H&M on the buffet were a great find. With a nautical theme, a raw wood crate used as a riser really works for the centerpiece. Use any wooden platters, bowls, and trays for the food (though we also spot a BCP favorite white bowl).

Light blue scalloped napkins tie it together.
I love it! Classy, doable, and not intimidating to guests. Sets such a pleasant tone!
Wow thanks my cart is filled already. Will place order when it gets closer to our simcha.
Where are those pekalach cubes from?

Etsy also has a lot of inexpensive customizable templates that can be used for themed parties like this. For placemats, water bottle labels, place cards, etc.
