They don’t have a fancy designer label, but the quality and design are high end.
Editor’s Note: Since the time that we first published our Quince favorites, there’s been lots more items with great quality and value added to the line-up. We updated this post to bring more top picks your way.
Do you enjoy high quality clothes and home items but don’t feel like paying for someone’s signature? Designer items are generally made with better quality materials and workmanship than mass market items. But the biggest difference in the pricing is for the designer’s name.
When we heard about Quince, we figured it was definitely worth a try. To be fully transparent, they reached out to us. They told us a bit about themselves and offered to send us cashmere sweaters to try. And those sweaters were beautiful and felt just as luxe as far more expensive designer versions.

So we decided to order a few more items to try. By we, I mean I did. First I ordered a set of linen napkins, a leather Apple Watch band and a purse. Each of those was a solid hit. The watch band may not be the Hermes that Apple sells, but the leather and craftsmanship have a similar appeal. The purse has the styling of a classic designer bag, the leather feels rich and the details look top tier. The price was not similar to a bag you’ll get at Target, but still a fraction of the price of a bag with a designer label. And these items are not knock-offs. They’re not trying to pretend they’re designer – just that they are equally as good.

And the napkins? Perfect weight and size. (These images show them the way the arrived – crispy and starched, and then how they looked after i washed them in hot water

because we actually use our napkins and I prefer my linen napkins to look more linen-y anyway. They shrank about an inch.)

So I decided to try some clothing. While I’m not a wool or cashmere person (way too itchy!), I ordered a stretch silk blouse, a cotton sweater, pajamas (top, pants), and an athletic hoodie. Again, the quality of each item seemed much higher than the price I paid for it. I didn’t love the sweater on me, so I figured I’d test the return process for all of you as well. I used Return Queen and the process went smoothly. The hoodie ran a bit large, so I exchanged for a size down.

I ordered a nice set of packing cubes that are more elevated than standard ones from Amazon.

These are a really nice gift item –

and, like the purse, they arrived packaged in a cloth bag ready for gifting. (The watch band also came in a nice box, and the napkins tied with a ribbon.)
I had only one negative experience with an item from Quince. The cashmere sweaters are promoted as washable, but mine did shrink after washing it on a delicate cycle in a machine. Not terribly, but definitely half to one size of shrinkage. If you want affordable cashmere, maybe just size up.
I have to say – I’m hooked on this company. I keep going back to order more items. Today I’m ordering a coat or jacket – I’ll keep you posted on how that goes! And let us know which items you try in the comments below.
I have these earrings from them.

They’re a little smaller than I expected but pretty and sparkly with a nice closing mechanism.
beautiful stuff, but many items are sold out.
They have gorgeous Everlane-style flats for a fraction of the price! I tell everyone about them! And I think that they are much more comfortable.
I ordered shoes and they charged sales tax, even though it was shipping to NJ, do you know why? NJ has no sales tax for clothing and shoes.
