Our children enjoyed these new books from Feldheim for Pesach.
Yom Tov is always a great time for new books. For one, fresh books are exciting and it adds to the overall excitement surrounding an upcoming Yom Tov. Two, there’s lots of home time, family time, and quiet time that can be used effectively by being inspired and entertaining by new reads.
Sometimes, though, our children find the book stash prematurely (like they did here–that’s why we are able to give you our reviews!). Or, if they chose the books themselves, they can’t really hold out until Yom Tov, and they jump in right away.
If you do want your books to be saved to be enjoyed over Yom Tov, it’s probably best to save this errand as a fun family outing one day or two before, or order online and hide the box when it arrives!
These are the books from Feldheim we personally read and enjoyed and your family will too.
TOP PICK – CHILDREN
Basyah’s Malachim

This was a favorite! It’s a great read for children of all ages (we even found our teens and ourselves wanting to read it. It’s mature enough for chapter book readers, but because it’s printed in the size and colors of an illustrated book, it’s inviting and unintimidating for early readers.
CHILDREN
The Bullies

Our children loved learning the lessons of dealing with people–and learning how to treat people–from these fun but practical and effective comments.
TEENS AND ALL AGES
The Last Slave

This is a classic. It’s a must-read for teens (and adults!) that helps them appreciate and understand what our nation endured during enslavement. It’s absolutely riveting and well-written. It’s the perfect book to read now and over Pesach.
TEENS AND ALL AGES
Let My Nation Go

Another must-read before Pesach if you haven’t yet. We reread this one before Pesach every few years and it brings all the events and midrashim of yetzias Mitzrayim fresh in our minds. It’s a great way to prepare for the Seder in an entertaining and unintimidating way–as yetzias Mitzrayim is told through all the sources in an easy-to-read story format.
HAGGADAH
The Katz Haggadah

This Haggadah brings the experience of the haggadah alive with the most dramatic illustrations that capture the interest of children and adults alike. It’s magnificent to look through and relive the events through the art.
HAGGADAH
Let’s Go Free with Miri and Tzvi – Children’s Haggadah

Forty-eight full-color illustrations, drawn according to the Torah, Midrash, and their commentaries, come together with the beautifully arranged, fully translated Haggadah text to bring alive the story of yetzias Mitzrayim. This Haggadah keeps children involved Seder night!
WOMEN AND TEEN GIRLS
The Holiness Within

This is a new release on Rebbetzin Tema Kamenetzky, a”h, the wife of Rav Shmuel Kamenetzky, shlita. It’s a short, yet easy-to-read book that’s both interesting and invaluable in the lessons Rebbeztin Kamenetzky has given over throughout her life. Highly recommended!
WOMEN AND TEEN GIRLS
Toras Imecha

A real beauty and masterpiece. Toras Imecha features short biographies and short stories on the wives of numerous gedolim. It’s both interesting to read about their lives, and the short stories each contain poignant lessons. The short story format makes it easy to read and enjoy a little at a time, while the beautiful portraits of each Rebbetzin really connects us to them. Another household must-have.
