What names did we think of before we decided on BetweenCarpools.com? Here’s a peek.

You can see our notes from our very first meeting over here. We’ve stayed true to that mission!

During one of our early days, we had a booth at an event and the ladies there didn’t know what Between Carpools was.

How do we run BCP? We use Asana (and soon Airtable) to organize our content ideas and calendar…

But we collaborate on WhatsApp. Can you guess how many chats we have?

We love your love letters and we save them in their own chat! We read every one! It keeps us going!

We also love Google Docs because it allows us to collaborate. Our Google Docs are saved in ‘Drafts’ folders and they’re moved to ‘Ready’ when they’re ready to be uploaded to the website.

Our photoshoots take place in Renee Muller’s basement and we only use natural lighting! See the BCP prop closet!

One of our team members owned one of the very first Doona’s in summer 2015. Here you see it at one of our early meetings.

We had failures too. We tried to launch a men’s version of Between Carpools called The Mensch. It didn’t take off. We closed it down and moved on.

You probably haven’t noticed, but we’ve overhauled this website 4 times since we launched. Each version had a new look and upgraded usability.

Fun fact — our children range in age from 26 to a 6-month-old! There’s also a few small grandchildren in the mix.

How long does it actually take to shoot a recipe step-by-step? A LONG time. There’s the prep, the styling, the photos…and there’s usually a team of three working. We typically get 7-8 posts shot in an average photoshoot day.

In 2024, we planned a retreat for our founders and it ended up being a Boot Camp. We spent three days and two nights away from home poring over our processes and fixing all the things we never get to fix.

The BCP logo has gone through some changes to reflect current events.

One of us hired a baby nurse to watch a baby during photoshoots while we were working on Dinner Done. Since then, she snaps photos of the Dinner Done cookbook and sends it to us whenever she’s working in a different house.

We received so many requests for more fashion, so, in 2024, we connected you with Shop This That to bring you some more of what you’ve been asking for!

Finally, one of us was once gifted a Dinner Done cookbook. We loved the thought. She knew we ran Between Carpools but had no idea that Dinner Done was connected to it. We had a good laugh together.
