      I agree with the above. Please remove the dock-a-tot recommendation. It is unsafe. Our children’s safety is worth more than convenience.

    one of the best gifts I ever got was a pack of the aden + anais swaddle blankets. the fabric is light, soft and they’re much larger than others so they’re great for swaddling/putting on floor as a clean layer, blanket in stroller- and the patterns are so pretty and minimal they make great backdrops for photos too! they have so many uses beyond the newborn weeks.

    PLEASE! send the new Mama and Totty breakfast after they are home from the hospital. Even if they are at their parents… it’s a HUGE help and SO appreciated! Also, if the baby is in the NICU and the parents don’t have a car… OFFER a ride to the hospital.

    Lately we’ve been gifting diapers. Works great for 4th, 5th,… 9th babies in the family. We try to find out what brand of diaper the family uses.

    I usually give a hooded towel and it always goes over well. If I know the person a bit better, I’ll embroider the baby’s name on the towel or I’ll give baby Uggs if I can find them for a good price.
