The Baby Bottle Cleaning Hack

It’s the hardest item in the sink to clean. No more special brushes needed.

When all the dishes are done, there’s still the baby bottles. You somehow always leave them for last. Perhaps it’s because it’s hard to get in there. The bottle brush doesn’t always get everywhere–and where is that thing anyway? It’s just not so convenient.

So you wait until you absolutely have no more bottles and you need it. By then, it’s too late to run it through the dishwasher.

One family member (a daughter, actually!), opened our eyes and clued us in that this Greasy Container Hack works with baby bottles too!

Adding dish soap to a very wet paper towel over the kitchen sink.

First, wet a paper towel until fully saturated and add some dish soap.

Putting a fully saturated paper towel with some dish soap into a baby bottle in the kitchen sink.

Add the paper towel to your bottle.

Holding a baby bottle with a fully saturated paper towel and some dish soap in the kitchen sink.

Close and shake!

Emptying a baby bottle with a soapy paper towel into the kitchen sink.

Pour it out. Then just give it a quick rinse, and you’re set!  The paper towel really does a great job of getting to all the corners and absorbing all the little bits of leftover formula that the brush somehow doesn’t always reach. And it’s quicker too. Just a few shakes and the bottles are all clean!

I learned a similar trick to put a little raw rice in the bottle with soap and shake. Does an amazing job of getting everything perfectly clean.

I, heard of something similar that you cut a sponge into small cubes and put one cube in the bottle with soap and water, give it a good shake and you have a clean bottle!!
