Looking for a warm, individualized preschool? WonDIRful Day is opening this fall in Lakewood; details below!
WonDIRful Day, a division of WonDIRful Play (read more about WonDIRful Play and DIRFloortime in our previous review, here!), is a brand-new DIRFloortime-based preschool for kids ages 2-4.

‘Our goal is to help our students mainstream!’ explains Clinical Director and Language Therapist Shaindy Weiss, ‘We tailor-made our learning environment to support your child: sensitive to their language profile, body needs, sensory systems, motor systems and emotional development. Using an emotionally-based model, with a language-based approach, our goal is to teach every child how to be a learner.’
DIR-Component
‘We take the time to truly get to know each child, creating individualized learning plans that set them up for success. Our classrooms are designed to foster healthy, positive relationships all day long—between children, teachers, therapists, support staff, and peers. These connections are the foundation for growth: when a child feels safe, understood, and supported, they’re ready to take risks, face challenges, and thrive.’
Educational Component
‘Our learning is entirely developmental. We teach in the way a preschool child’s mind naturally grows—whether it’s parshah, aleph bais, phonemic awareness, math, literacy, language, or science, every subject is taught with a developmental approach. Children learn through direct teaching, guided discovery, and hands-on experiences. Language and Occupational Therapy groups are integrated into the classroom, along with weekly pull-out, individual therapy sessions for additional support; parents are always welcome to join!’

The team behind WonDIRful Day includes some of the most respected professionals in the field:
- Shaindy Weiss, Clinical Director
- Nechi Sprecher, Program Director
- Genendy Friedman, Educational Director
- Leah Sternheim, OT Supervisor
- Chan Kunstlinger, SLP
Classes are small—just 8 children—and very well supported. All classroom staff receive individual, weekly training to better support our students.. Yiddish-speaking staff is available, so language never is a barrier to connection.

And when your child graduates and is ready to mainstream? They can still benefit from WonDIRful Play’s DIRFloortime services to keep that progress strong and support their transition.
