Yes, your unique coloring will make it easier for you to choose the types of clothing and accessories which suit you best.
Which colors and styles will help me look younger, creative, classy and more feminine? How can I use my clothes and makeup in a way that allows me to show a particular image to the outside world? How do I know which trends suit me, and which to stay away from?
This past summer, I shared tips on choosing the colors which are most flattering for you in this post. And it goes even further! Our faces can be the main determining factor in choosing the right clothing and accessories for us.
Our faces are usually the main thing we want to enhance. Your face is the first thing people see, and we want to look our best. When you match your face to your clothes, your real beauty is expressed because you are not hiding behind other things.
Here are some style tips that can help you decide what types of clothing might best compliment you.
What types of colors would look best on me, based on my skin and hair coloring?
Let’s look at contrast, a concept of visual harmony. We can carefully notice the contrast in each person’s features. We can compare their hair and skin color and observe any contrast in that color. For example, someone who has dark black hair with very light skin is considered to be of high contrast, and will always look best in contrasting colors, such as black and white. People who have medium color hair with lighter or darker skin are considered to be of medium contrast and they will look best in darker colors such as black together with a medium color like green.
Light hair with light skin, dark hair with dark skin, or medium hair with medium skin, where all of these will look good in low contrast colors such as monochromatic coloring. This neutral coloring which includes darker and lighter shades of the same color, will offer a taller and more slimming appearance as well as showing the more elegant side of you.
What size accessories are best for me?
Look at the size of facial features and determine their size comparative to your face. For example: if you have large eyes and other features, you should be using larger accessories. For those who have symmetrical features, medium sized accessories would work the best. If a person has smaller features then smaller accessories would be the most complimentary.
How much detail should I wear?
Simple design with no details, requires smooth skin, whereas you should wear more complex designs with lots of details if your skin is more porous with more texture and veins.
Do you know that wonderful feeling of putting on that perfect dress? We often notice people who have great style and know what looks good on them. Everyone can achieve this and feel confident and beautiful in their own bodies. We do not need to try to be like others! Instead, let’s focus on the individual beauty Hashem created just for us.

This is so cool! I totally gravitate towards the styles that fit me, and now I understand why certain styles just don’t look right. It’s great to have guidelines to know what to look for!

This article is fascinating.
I always try to work with my coloring and eye color, it’s interesting that it doesn’t come into play here.
Im wondering what you would say to that…
Sori magid says
That’s a great point. I wrote an article here all about coloring and color tips. I split it into two separate articles because I had so much to share. Color is a huge piece.
