You’ll love the scent of this homemade Lemon Vanilla Diffuser…you may even enjoy it more than those fried foods.
This year, when your family and guests enter your home on Chanukah, it won’t be that frying smell in the air.
Rather, it will be a scent that’s beyond blissful. They may even question if you even have anything fried on the menu.
It’s not any diffusers, plug-in or not, that get that done for you. It’s this concoction that’s way more natural and even enjoyable to assemble.

The ingredients are simple. One sliced lemon, one sliced orange, a few sprigs of fresh rosemary, a handful of cloves, and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Other options to add include cinnamon sticks and peppercorns.

Simply add the lemon, orange, rosemary, and cloves to a pot. Yes, you can use any pot. But this clear pot with cover from Amazon allows you to see the contents and it looks so pretty sitting on your stove.

Add the vanilla.

Cover the contents with water.

Bring to a boil and then let simmer.

You can leave the heat on low and let this simmer for as long as you like.

The pot has a vent so you don’t need to uncover it for the scent to escape, but here’s a birdseye look at the contents.
As you entertain, the smell will linger in the background.

Wow thank you I can’t wait to try this! can it go in the fridge to continue the next day?
I have been doing something similar for years. Maybe not as pretty looking but the result is the same. I put water, lemon juice , a few cloves and vanilla sugar in a pot just boil and turn on the overhead vent fan so that it disperses the aroma. You can also do lemon juice and basil. Or vanilla, cinnamon and cloves which makes your house smell like you just baked. Much better smelling than the fake aroma diffusers.
I’ve done cinnamon stick lemon and vanilla. Smells amazing. Love the idea of putting it in the clear pot.
Where do you find fresh rosemary?
Also been doing this for years- I add apples and any other fruit from the drawer that’s past its prime and no one wants to eat. The clear pot is such a fun step up!
Excellent as always, thank you bcp! And what a nice pot Been doing this for years with orange peels, cloves, and a cinnamon stick in my smallest pot. Sometimes I add a drop of vanilla. Tip- when I peel an orange, I add the peels to a bag that I keep in the freezer. It boils just as well.
Thank you for sharing a hack that’s healthy and doesn’t rely on chemicals, I truly appreciate it.
