Can’t decide if you need more fridge or freezer space? Don’t have room for both? You can get a convertible fridge/freezer (it doesn’t cost more!)
Do we ever have enough room in our fridge and freezers? Somehow they always seem to be filled to the max and once a holiday or simcha comes there is no chance one fridge and freezer can do the job. Many people have a second fridge or freezer in a garage or basement. It can be one single full fridge. Or a single full freezer. Maybe one of each. Or a side by side fridge freezer combo. Or a chest freezer. What about a fridge that can also become a freezer? Or a freezer that can become a fridge?
Sometimes we need extra freezer space to store extra meats and chicken and all those containers of chicken soup. But then for a holiday or simcha we need to store tons of fresh veggies and prepared dishes. The flexibility of a convertible fridge/freezer allows you to use your extra appliance based on your need at the time. It is so useful on Pesach when a freezer that was storing all your frozen items can be cleared out and become a fridge for all those days of holiday meals. When hosting a simcha that extra freezer is great to get ahead on prepping and once the simcha comes, push a button and all those prepped items are now ready to be served from a refrigerator.
The flexibility of a convertible fridge/freezer is so helpful and if you are going to be buying a spare full fridge or freezer there really is no reason not to get one that can convert (it doesn’t cost more)! A side by side fridge or freezer may be the best choice if both a spare fridge or freezer are needed at once. If you have space for one full fridge and one full freezer it is best to make them both convertible ones for so much flexibility!
