Love spending time with family but distance makes it hard to get together? You can still catch up and have some laughs with this virtual game!
Before the Game
We used this website called polleverywhere.com
You create the questions. Customize how the chart looks and how your audience can respond. It takes a little effort to get this set up (on the presenters part) but it’s worth the fun!
Choose from a large variety of poll activities, including multiple-choice, open response, live word clouds, clickable images, up- and down-voting for Q&A, and rank order. Questions can be written in almost any language and can include images, and emojis.
At the Game
It’s go time. Ask your question. Invite the audience to respond by visiting a webpage or texting. The screen changes as you watch. One person is the presenter and prepares the poll questions, then everyone answers via text message.
Participants can respond using any device. They can go to a customizable web address or send a text message to participate. As the presenter, you control when responses are displayed on-screen. Poll Everywhere supports international use with response instructions in 30 languages, along with international texting numbers.
Need some question ideas? Here are some question ideas to spark your creativity:
If you can change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
What would you do if you were invisible for a day?
If you can have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
What is one thing you will never do again?
If you can retire today, what would you do?
What is the worst gift you received?
What’s the worst thing you did as a kid?
If you can eat 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Make some questions personal, here are some examples:
What was Totty’s first job?
Growing up, what dinner did you remember?
If Esty would open a business what would she sell?
Where can you find David on Thursday nights?
Who’s the most silent member on our family (WhatsApp) group?
What’s a childhood memory that comes to mind now?
What is Grandma’s most famous line?
Using one word, describe this family?
Some Tips:
Make sure when you set up the game, to play with the settings to make all the answers visible to everyone.
I remember having a bit of a hard time getting the poll to work. Make sure to test it first. You might need to download the app on your phone in order to present it.

Thank you – great idea! Are you able to present this through poll everywhere or you have to do it through power point? cant get it to work
Shaindy Menzer says
I found it easiest to present it from polleverywhere.com. For some reason their app is much easier to use when presenting than their website. Good Luck, it is a bit complicated – try to test it and become familiar with it before the game starts.

Love this idea!! Having a hard time though setting it up right – how did you get it so that everyone can see all the answers? Also, the link for the set up document at the beginning of the article doesn’t seem to work. Really want to try this!! Thank you!!
