Gymnastics doesn’t stay at the gym – and shouldn’t!
If nurtured properly, gymnastics can become a source of confidence and joy for your children.
I remember as a kid we lived gymnastics; whether on the neighbors’ trampoline or on mattresses in our basement, we were always entertaining ourselves and having good old wholesome fun!
We had nothing fancy. We borrowed gymnastics books from the library and mimicked everything we saw. (Literally down to eating apples because we saw a picture of a gymnast with a green apple!)
We staple gunned foam onto a long piece of wood and that was our makeshift beam. Yeah, it kinda hurt when you stepped on a staple but we had a beam! We would practice cartwheels, handstands, turns and everything we can think of on that rusty old beam, but at the end of the day it gave us more than anything else.
Nowadays with so much screen time, physical activity like gymnastics has become more necessary than ever. Gymnastics is not only fun, it is an art that needs to be mastered and worked for. Giving your children the opportunity to practice and share the fun with their friends at home is a gift larger than words! Give it to your child! Give it to yourself!
For the top rated home equipment that combines fair pricing with quality and smart home design, I would recommend Tumbl Trak. Tumbl Trak makes home quality and professional grade equipment at fair pricing. When buying a home beam or bar it is important to get high quality as these are hardware items as opposed to panel mats that are simply cushioning.
For panel/folding mats, it is not as important to get high grade, but I have seen the difference very clearly between the Amazon brands and the real gym brands. The real gym brands last forever and are firmer, while the cheaper off brands are made of softer foam and get ruined much faster.
When practicing at home, it’s most important to remember: practice your skills. Don’t try new skills without the proper equipment, mats and coaching! And make sure you always have proper padding set up. If you don’t have mats that are soft enough, mattresses come in handy, especially under the bars or beam.
