On this YouTube Channel, kids learn step-by-step how to draw and you (and they) will be amazed at what they can create.
A YouTube channel that is actually productive for children? What, where?
Art for Kids Hub on Youtube is an amazing channel in which Rob and a child draw a picture, step by step, in simple and easy to understand language and directions. There are tons of videos to choose from so there is something for everyone and all ages.
You can find Art for Kids Hub on Youtube or you can avoid Youtube entirely and check out their website at artforkidshub.com. On the website, you can search the videos by age or what subject and tailor your free art lesson exactly how you want it! There are origami lessons as well. Another option is cutouts which combines drawing and cutting for a more involved project that requires construction paper, scissors, and glue. There are also painting projects as well! They do offer membership for exclusive lessons and for ad-free content but there is more than enough free material it’s not necessary at all. The ads are just the usual ones preceding the video.
Although kids can follow the lessons on their own, it’s also a lot of fun for adults, so learning to draw can also be a great activity to do together as a family. Sometimes my kids (ages 5 and 8) need me to pause the video or go back but otherwise, they do it all themselves. It’s nice that Rob, the adult, draws the picture while a child simultaneously draws it as well so the kids can see that theirs doesn’t have to look exactly like the perfect adult drawing.
I shared this fun activity on my instagram account @fun.in.the.bc and so many people had their kids drawing! It was loved by moms and kids alike and I loved seeing the pictures of all the drawings that the proud kids held up! Go check it out and tag me @fun.in.the.bc so I can see what your kids are drawing!
What my kids say about it:
“It’s hard but fun and I love when my Mom puts it on.”- Caleb, 5 years old
“It teaches people that are horrible drawers to be very good at it, no offense to whoever is bad.”- Noah, 8 years old
“There are never ending options to draw and a great way to entertain yourself when you are bored.”- Kira, 8 years old
Disclaimer: Of course, it’s each parents responsibility to carefully monitor their children when using a site like YouTube.
I’m surprised at you!
I cringe when I have to use YouTube at work to watch instructional videos! And your recommending that children use it????
We appreciate your concern. We try to be sensitive to the needs of all members of our audience and to always keep within our standards. In this case, we specified that there is the website alternative and You Tube can be avoided entirely. Of course, as noted above, we would never recommend unsupervised use.
Agree with Reena 100%
My kids had a great time using the artforkidshub site, drawing several things. I sat and drew with them and had a good time too! Even my 3 year old was able to do pretty well. Thank you! They also have an option to download the instructions if yuou don’t want to watch the videos.
We loved this! My 8 year old daughter and almost 7 year old son really really liked this activity and they treated it as a “mid-winter” activity, which was perfect for me. Obviously they only did it when I was around, our computer is filtered and YouTube auto play was turned off so the next video didn’t automatically start. I had to help them pick what to draw and approve it first. Thank you for some really excellent ideas!
Thanks for sharing this, it has kept my kids busy for endless amount of hours!!! They really love it!
Thanks!
You can also try 613tube.com it is I believe a chabad filtering of youtube.
