From the first moment of our conversation, it’s clear that Avrumi Friedman, veteran computer programmer and experienced programming teacher, is passionate about what he does. ‘I only teach at night, I still program during the day,’ he says. ‘First of all, I love computer programming; I love what I do. But also, I believe staying current in my field is super important. In technology, of course we’re always evolving. By keeping my day job, I’m keeping myself up-to-date on the latest, and bringing that current information into my course.’
LIT’s Computer Programming Course is primarily an in-person course based in Lakewood. However, based on popular demand, there is a remote options available! Join the class live remotely, or watch the pre-recorded class on your own schedule and pace. And it’s not just sitting in a classroom or watching a course only to find yourself staring at the screen blankly, it’s an interactive experience, where you’re learning by doing, asking questions, and increasing your skills (read more about what you’ll learn here).
‘The students aren’t doing this alone. Programming can be super complex, so I’m available to answer student’s questions, help them with their assignments, you name it.’ Mr. Friedman continued. ‘And let’s say a student starts the course and decides that programming isn’t for them. They can stop anytime during the first month and get a full refund.’
‘Will the course make a student job-ready?’ I asked Mr. Friedman. ‘Absolutely.’ he said, ‘The students graduate well versed in programming, complete with all the skills they need to work as programmers. My graduates are working in so many different companies and come back and tell me how prepared they were for the job.’
The next cohort of LIT’s Computer Programming Course starts on September 4th, so don’t wait! Visit http://www.lakewoodprogramming.com for more information, or call them at 732-290-5703. Your career is waiting!
