13 Most Important Products for Styling Hair and Wigs

Whether you’re a do-it-yourselfer or beginner, when it comes to all things hair, these are the best products I love to use.

Pibbs Twin Turbo 3800 Ionic & Ceramic, Black

What I like about this specific blow dryer is that it is lightweight, small, and yet strong. So very easy for holding and coordinating while blowing hair and holding a brush, yet still has amazing heat strength.

BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Spring Curling Iron

The most popular iron for curling hair/wigs. You can adjust heat to different temperatures which is great, and it comes in a few sizes for different curling effects. There’s a 3/4 inch for crimping, 1 inch for basic curls/beach waves, and 1.5 inch or 2 inch for bigger bouncier beach waves.

Vent Styling Hair Brushes

This is the best brush for brushing out hair/wigs without pulling out hair. The fact that it is so wide is great for grasping a lot of hair at once.

Scalpmaster 2 3/4 Ionic Hair Brush

This curling brush is great for blowing hair/wigs. It grasps the hair beautifully and the bristles don’t melt from the heat of the blow dryer. It’s also extremely comfortable to the hand.

Diane Large Butterfly Clamps

These are some basic butterfly clamps, used to section hair/wigs so that you can have proper sections when styling and work neatly and efficiently.

Boar Bristle Brush Salon Comb Hair Teasing Brush

This is an amazing product for giving a quick tease or some height to hair/wigs. It can also be used by those who need to pull out those baby hairs from their wigs that always seem to be hiding/getting stuck.

Bobby Pins

It’s always good to have a large amount of bobby pins on hand. They always disappear! These are great and hold nicely. Make sure to select a color that works for your color hair/wig.

Clear Elastic Hair Bands

These are amazing! They’re not expensive and they’re one of those things you can never have enough. Great to have in the house for all those moms struggling to find ponies for the little ones in the morning. It’s a never ending box…and for hair/wigs they hold great for all styling purposes.

It’s a 10 Haircare Miracle Leave-In Detangler

This is a great product to spray into a wig when knotty before washing (Think winter! knots from the coats and the wind) or anytime you need to get out a knot. A quick spray and brush and it’s out. It’s also a great household item if you have kids whose hair gets knotty.

BIOSILK Silk Therapy Original Cure

This is a great product that gives hair/wigs a smooth sleek and shiny look and provides extra frizz control and shine after being blown/styled. It also has an amazing fresh clean smell…(I like to put it into my wig sometimes before Shabbos/simcha to make it feel like it’s freshly washed from a salon). Use a pea sized amount and gently lather through the hair/wig (a little bit goes a long way).

Free Standing Wig Clamp

This item and the next two are great for those starting out in the industry. This one is a great clamp for blowing wigs. The height is adjustable and it stores away easily.

Canvas Wig Head

This is for blowing out wigs. It gets placed on top of the clamp, and it’s great for poking in all those pins because it’s canvas. It’s quite heavy so it stays in place when blowing/styling. I use the 21 inch.

Salon Trolley Wooden Stylist Cart

This is a place to keep all the equipment for styling hair/wigs. It’s on wheels so it’s easy to move around and relocate, and the sizing is great as it doesn’t take up too much room.

What about a hair protectant product? I am looking for one since my daughters hair is super curly and she’s been asking me to blow dry her hair straight for holidays and occasions and I don’t want to ruin her soft gorgeous hair
