The whole family will have a blast at this mall (even if they all want to pick their own activities!)
What does your checklist for a family trip look like?
Looking for something indoor? Check.
Looking for something fun? Check.
Looking for something exciting? Check.
Looking for something kid friendly? Check.
Looking for something teen friendly? Guess what? You can check that off too.
I’m sure you get the gist. No, there is not one magical attraction that suits everyone’s palate, but there is one amazing mall that in addition to all the great shopping there are so many fun attractions to visit. Something for everyone. And if the big ones and little ones can’t come to an agreement of what to do, you always have the option of splitting up since it is all in the same mall. With the location only 20 minutes from Monsey, less than an hour away from the Brooklyn Bridge and an hour and a half away from Lakewood, the location is a great one to meet up with friends and family to spend an amazing day.
Although I experienced most of the attractions in the Palisades Mall, I did not experience them all. Below I will share my experiences and mention the places that I have not been to so that you know all your options.

Fourth Floor Attractions:
The Palisades Adventure Course begins on the 4th floor where the guide will provide visitors with a harness to keep you on track. The course can accommodate approximately 75 climbers at once. There are guides looking out for climbers in distress. If someone to conquer a difficult element and can’t continue, the friendly guide will come and help.
There are 75 different elements on the course including a tremor bridge, tension traverse, a vertical rope ladder, a quarter cargo net, a two line rope bridge, an alternating spaghetti handline and a three line lumber rope bridge.
In order to climb you must be at least 42″ ( 3’6″ ) to participate with an adult or 48″ ( 4′ ) to participate alone. Maximum height is 80″ ( 6’8” ). Closed shoes required. Maximum weight limit is 300 pounds.
The Palisades Adventure Climb also has the Sky Tykes Ropes Course on the 4th Floor of the mall for children too young or small to go on the regular ropes course. It is designed for children 48” and under with 10 elements for them to conquer. The open and low-level design allows for easy parental guidance. Parents can walk alongside the child or simply step back and watch them take part in the fun as they are securely harnessed in. Closed shoes are required for the Sky Tykes Ropes course.
Hours are subject to change without notice if the course is rented out to a group (usually only happens in the summer)

Ice skating at the Palisades Center is refreshing and enjoyable. The rink is generally not too crowded. It has enough space for everyone to enjoy themselves. It is a great place to learn to ice skate or just to sharpen your skills. I love the way you can just go in for an enjoyable skate session and then do your shopping errands at the same time. The prices are very decent and there are often groupons available that make it really inexpensive.

Climbzone:
It’s quite amazing to see the two-sided themed climbing walls lined up in the Palisades Mall just behind the food court. A staggering 34 different climbing walls offer visitors a fun outlet in a creative way. A clear wall encloses the area making it both open and airy but at the same time safe from children wandering off and from curious onlookers.
Climbzone is a branch of the Lakewood Climbzone facility-the same tried and true fun!
It’s not necessary to trek through the whole to reach Climbzone, the entrance near Cheesecake Factory is right below Climbzone. Just take the escalator up and it will bring you directly to the climbing wall wonderland.

You never have to reschedule due to inclement weather; the weather at Autobahn Indoor Speedway is always perfect. There are no reservations necessary.
We walked in and Mickey helped us sign up and get started. Firstly we watched a short safety video. Once that was completed we headed over to the starting point where we donned our head-sock. We were then fitted with a heavy-duty helmet and assigned to our car which is outfitted with four-point safety harness.
There are special karts designed for junior drivers (eight years and older and at least 48” tall) which can race up to 25 MPH. Children can race against each other or the clock. The junior karts have additional safety features to ensure their safety.
