We all know that once you enter the maze, that’s half a day erased from your life. It can be a fun half day, but we don’t always have that kind of time to spend on getting just a couple more of those amazing storage bins and kids hangers.
Well, there’s some great news out there! Ikea has updated their shipping policy and the prices have become extremely reasonable. Small items start at just $5 and the price goes up in small increments.
A highchair ships for $5!
Add 6 KUGGIS Boxes and it goes up to $10.
Add these kid-sized hangers – mentioned in this post –we love and they just slide right in with no shipping increase. Sure it’s cheaper to get them at the store, but time (and gas and tolls) is money, too.
Larger furniture items ship at a flat rate based on location, so one bookcase costs the same to ship as six.

I discovered this recently when I needed more wood hangers and linen. I knew if I’d make a trip to the store, I’d pay a lot more for gas and a million little things I don’t really need. At $5 shipping, I will buy things I really need.
They want 80$ (!) shipping for the small mirror (that goes begins a door)!!!

Yes, it’s those in-between sized things that don’t work out. Add it to a bookcase order and it doesn’t change the shipping rate, but the size and weight of the mirror mean it doesn’t get shipped like the small goods.
Are Ikea bookcases good quality?
I have 5 Billy bookcases that have held up for years. Excellent value for the money.

look like they were custom made, at a fraction of the cost! We’re going on 10 years and they’re still in great condition! But be careful to attach to the wall!!

I use their trones! I love them and use them all over my house. In the kitchen for my dish towels, and for my coloring center, they can be used by the mud room for gloves and winter accessories, I use it for my diapers where I change my baby, in the girls room for their accessories, for my kids leggings, etc. they hang up beautifully and are so neat and practical. I keep stock of them in my storage room whenever I need a new storage place.
