The Easiest Way to Fix a Drawstring That Fell Out

It’s challenging to thread a drawstring back into that hoodie/skirt/pants. This is the easiest way to make it happen.

You know those drawstrings in hoodies that always seem to fall out at the worst times? We’ve all been there, trying to feed the string back through the tiny opening and growing more frustrated by the minute. There’s the “safety pin trick,” where you pin one end of the string and guide it through, but it’s still tedious.

We found a better way. A much better way.

All you need is a pen with a cover.

Yes, really.

Just place the end of the string into the pen cover,

place the pen into the cover and close as best as you can.

Thread the pen through the hole

and move through the channel.

Done in seconds!

Once you try it, you’ll never bother with the safety pin again. OR keep this in mind next time you need to fix that string!

One more option! Slide one end of the drawstring into a straw, tape it securely, and use the straw to guide the string.

If your drawstring doesn’t have knots at the end, it’s a good idea to tie them at the end to help avoid the string coming loose again.

Use a wire hanger. They the string to one side and fees it through

I see the channel but I see no holes or openings(?).

I also always use a safety pin, it works very well and can be done on Shabbos if need be. the safety pin should be a sturdy, large’ish one for it to work well.
