Want to know the Hebrew date at any given time? It’s easy to have it show up right alongside the secular date on your iPhone calendar app.
You can keep track of Jewish birthdays and Rosh Chodesh so much more easily when you can see the date on your calendar. And it’s such a simple setting to turn on!
Go to your settings app and scroll down to Calendar.
Select Alternate Calendars.
Select Hebrew.
That’s it! Now go to your calendar (the native app that comes with the phone) and you’ll see the Hebrew date right underneath the secular one. It’ll be on your lock screen, as well!

It’s useful for so much more than just Rosh Chodesh and birthdays! When I need to schedule appointments several months out, it’s super helpful to know the Hebrew date so that you don’t accidentally schedule for a very inconvenient time on the Jewish calendar.

Anyway to do this on Android?
Chanie says
Yes, you can also set it up on an Android phone. If you go to the calendar there is three lines in the top left corner, click on that then scroll down to settings. Then click on general, then you will see an option for alternate calendar. Then you can select Hebrew calendar. Hope this is helpful.

I have an Android and just tried it on my Google Calendar. I went to Settings, General Settings, Alternate Calendar, and chose Hebrew. It’s not so clear on the daily Calendar (it says the day but not the month) and doesn’t display the date on my home screen, but it did technically work.

I followed all the instructions to add a Hebrew calendar on to my android, but there was no option to add on Hebrew. Only like 7 other options. Any advice on how to add on Hebrew if I don’t see it as a choice?
