I tested multiple pairs of plus-sized black tights in a quest for the most comfortable!
As a plus size female, it is sometimes difficult to dress “put together and with it” and “on trend,” as many brands cut very small or only go up to a size XL. Within the past few years many brands have been extending their size range which has helped the plus size community tremendously. This has helped many women feel more comfortable in their own skin and has empowered plus size women to be themselves and feel more confident.
For some reason, tights have been a problem! I have always found them to be too small, too tight or just not cut well for the plus size community. (The tights will be very long, but too narrow near the thigh area).
Recently, I went to the hosiery store on a mission. I wanted to find a pair of black tights that fit comfortably the whole day, and were not ripped between the legs by the time the day was over. I didn’t feel it was necessary to spend over $15 on one pair of tights so I didn’t bother with any that were more pricey.
I was unhappy to see that there were not many options available for my size, but here are my reviews. I was in Bingo one day and noticed that they had tights. They were cheap enough that I decided to give them a try. Surprisingly, they were great! Who would have thought? Tights from the grocery! The only downside is that they only have them in store, I have not found them online. For reference, I am 5’5” and usually wear 2X in standard sizing. These are my thoughts and reviews but feel free to try some on your own! If you find any other good options please let me know!
