The HelpLine is a free, anonymous Jewish support hotline—available 24/7, 365 days a year—made possible by trained volunteers who are willing to answer the phone and listen.

Founded in the UK in 2019 by Rabbi AY Goldman and Shaya Halpern, The HelpLine was created in response to two terrible tragedies. It became painfully clear that too many people were struggling in silence, with no safe place to turn. Determined to ensure that no one would ever feel alone, The HelpLine began as a small group of dedicated volunteers offering a lifesaver: an anonymous listening ear.

Over time, The HelpLine grew to serve thousands of callers across the UK and Gibraltar, expanding hours, and training more volunteers who wanted to make a real difference, one conversation at a time. The HelpLine became a trusted safe space where both the volunteers and the callers are anonymous. From loneliness and stress to suicide and self-harm, The HelpLine receives calls on all topics 24/7, 365 days a year.

The HelpLine just launched in the USA, bringing its trusted support to the tristate area. And now, they’re looking for more volunteers to meet the growing demand. The HelpLine provides unparalleled training and ongoing support for all their volunteers. As a part of The HelpLine family, your role is simple and powerful: to listen with empathy, without judgment, and ensure no one struggles alone.
Are you able to listen?
Are you the person your friends and family call when they need a listening ear? Can you imagine being there for others in our community during moments that matter? Are you looking to give back in a meaningful way? You could be the HelpLine volunteer someone else needs.

Help ensure there is always someone on the other end of the line!
