Always moving, always responding, always communicating? This is why you should make time to pause.
Quiet time is needed in order to be receptive to our deepest, most helpful, most meaningful INNER guidance. When every moment of boredom and/or free time is filled with scrolling, we leave no space for that guidance. Its voice is silenced, stifled; its wisdom and its prompting unavailable to us.
We cannot hear the call of our heart, the voice of our conscious, the ring of inspiration, or the whisper of creativity. We trade it all in for unending, never ending, endless stimulation. We are in constant motion going nowhere, instead of standing still for a few minutes – just long enough to get our bearings and be able plan our next steps toward the fulfillment of our reason for being. We need the empty, quiet space of “doing nothing” in order to make “something” of ourselves.
We need to put our phones down so that our souls can wake up.
