Remember the days people took wig boxes as hand luggage? They were bulky, hard to carry, and someone always left the boxes sitting somewhere. Thankfully that’s a thing of the past.
With many sheitels these days set naturally, we aren’t busy pinning, rolling in curlers or worrying that our sheitel won’t be set like the good ol days (those that don’t remember, ask your moms! It wasn’t that long ago). Today, when traveling you can easily just pack up your wig using these solutions, pull it out, and give a good shake and wear.
We’re sharing 4 ways to pack your sheitel on a trip:
Simply have it pinned and set on the head. Start by cutting off the ends of the shoe box, opening it up so a larger head fits inside.
Another easy way is to put in the inside of your husbands hat in the hat box and make sure he doesn’t take out his hat for the flight / car ride
I like to put fresh yarmulkes inside the hat
I travel super often and keep my sheitals in but zip lock bags. Comes out perfect.

I bought the collapsible head but can’t figure out how use it so that the wig doesn’t get ruined. Can anyone advise step by step instructions how it’s to be used please?
A full bang wig should be laid down on its side. Lying it flat up will cause the bang to split
I always travel with the first shoe box idea. It works great. Newspaper can be used instead of tissue paper if needed. I like to put a rubber band around the box to make sure it stays closed. Also I have never had an issue with the bangs splitting when used this way.
I love the idea of putting it inside the hat though! Maybe I’ll try that next trip we go together.
