Drink your coffee in peace with these easy prep, low supervision DIY activities
Your toddler seems uninterested in his toys. But you really need a few minutes (even if it’s just to drink a whole cup of coffee!) for him to be busy on his own. These fun activities are easy for you to prepare, and will interest and engage him for a nice little while.
Plus, they mostly use items that you may already have at home. Hello to a few minutes of calm and peace.
Colorful Egg Carton Activity
Age Level: 2+
You’ll Need:
- Egg carton
- Applesauce/yogurt pouch covers in different colors
- Dot stickers (or colorful permanent markers) that match the color of the covers
- Mini tongs (optional. Great for 4+ – I got mine at The Dollar Tree)

Take your empty egg carton and add a sticker to each egg indentation to match a yogurt cover.

You can also use permanent markers and color dots instead of a sticker, especially if you’re missing a color.

Place all the covers needed next to the egg carton, including the mini tongs if your kid is old enough.

Let them match up the color cover to the sticker!

Magnet Tile Sticker Matching
Age Level: 1+
You’ll Need:
- Magnet tiles
- Big stickers in different shapes. Vinyl stickers like these are great because they’re easier to remove, but any work.
- Box cutter or knife

Place the sticker in between 2 connected magnet tiles.

Cut it in the middle using the box cutter.

Let your child match up each shape!
